Coral Crisis

The objective was designing a 24x36 infographic poster and interactive prototype to highlight the coral crisis in our oceans. Through watercolor visuals and data-driven graphics, I illustrated the causes of coral bleaching, its global impact, and the role of human activity. The visual hierarchy centered around coral imagery, with faded colors symbolizing the bleaching process. This project strengthened my ability to translate environmental research into compelling, informative design.

Sketches

With the organic shapes of the coral I wanted the infographics to integrate well into the design. Having some infographic have a curve to them to follow the same shape as a piece of coral.

Wireframe

Pulling inspiration from underwater photography, vintage marine illustrations, and vibrant coral reef imagery to reflect the beauty of ocean life. The selected color palettes transition from rich, vibrant coral tones to more muted, bleached hues, representing the impact of coral bleaching. Font ideas range from bold to thin, helping to balance educational content with engaging visuals.
